I should not have kept pulling this。。。 fat L on my part。 An exciting premise that seems worth writing (how did Han Solo go from Imperial to Hutt property between Episodes 5 and 6) turns into an extraordinarily bland story mostly taking place at an auction。 At the end, it gets one last laugh in at the reader by revealing it's all been setup for a different Star Wars comic event, which I won't fall for this time。The Boushh one shot tie in was good, however。 I should not have kept pulling this。。。 fat L on my part。 An exciting premise that seems worth writing (how did Han Solo go from Imperial to Hutt property between Episodes 5 and 6) turns into an extraordinarily bland story mostly taking place at an auction。 At the end, it gets one last laugh in at the reader by revealing it's all been setup for a different Star Wars comic event, which I won't fall for this time。The Boushh one shot tie in was good, however。 。。。more

This is one of the only crossover event comics I've read, having so far steered clear of most Marvel and DC books。It's more of a chore than it's probably worth keeping up, dragging out a story that would probably be more interesting if told more concisely。 In each issue of each book there's at least a page and a half of reused dialog and paneling from one of the other titles。 The whole thing Marvel is doing filling in the cracks between the original trilogy just isn't doing anything for me。 Like This is one of the only crossover event comics I've read, having so far steered clear of most Marvel and DC books。It's more of a chore than it's probably worth keeping up, dragging out a story that would probably be more interesting if told more concisely。 In each issue of each book there's at least a page and a half of reused dialog and paneling from one of the other titles。 The whole thing Marvel is doing filling in the cracks between the original trilogy just isn't doing anything for me。 Like, I know there isn't a payoff in a way that "counts" because obviously we all know the story。Star Wars is such an immense sandbox to play in, but people are afraid to stretch out to the edges。 So we get contrived M E G A E V E N T S with characters we know so well that we simply cannot be surprised by。 。。。more

I love that so many comics were leaning towards this story, but that Soule got to be in charge of the main issues of the mega event。 This run gives us some of the best team-ups and the best Boba Fett action! There is so much going on in this chase and it fills the gaps that Shadows of the Empire once occupied in Legends。 I hope that we get more mega events of this quality in canon。

This was a good comic series。 We got many different cameos and beloved characters returning。 This acts like a prelude to Book of Boba Fett。

I have mixed feelings on this one。 Maybe my expectations were set high because it was Charles Soule with a focus on Boba Fett, but I even at 5 issues the story of the carabonite felt like it went on too long? And it never really felt like an Event story for me, this could have been told as an arc in the regular Star Wars title The ending was cool。 The introduction of Qi’ra to the comics line was also cool。 It’s just some of the stuff in the middle。 And the art could have been better。

Charles Soule’s “War of the Bounty Hunters” is the kind of comic book mega “event” that you can’t help but wish that all comic book mega “events” would aspire to, quality-wise。 A strong story, fun tie-ins, and momentous twists that promise serious repercussions for the broader “Star Wars” universe all help to make this one of the more promising “Star Wars” events in some time (“Vader Down” has nothing on this), and on a purely narrative level, there’s a lot to appreciate here (it also doesn’t hu Charles Soule’s “War of the Bounty Hunters” is the kind of comic book mega “event” that you can’t help but wish that all comic book mega “events” would aspire to, quality-wise。 A strong story, fun tie-ins, and momentous twists that promise serious repercussions for the broader “Star Wars” universe all help to make this one of the more promising “Star Wars” events in some time (“Vader Down” has nothing on this), and on a purely narrative level, there’s a lot to appreciate here (it also doesn’t hurt that the art by Luke Ross is top-notch)。 The closing pages of “War of the Bounty Hunters” promise that this is the first of a trilogy of stories that Soule has cooked up, and if Parts 2 and 3 are anywhere close to the quality seen here…well, then we’re in for quite a treat。 。。。more

Could it be a certain cunning woman by the name of Qi’ra? Yes, you read that right, Crimson Dawn has been revived and Han Solo’s former lover Qi’ra has orchestrated everything。 When War of the Bounty Hunters was first announced, I expected a straightforward story about someone stealing Han Solo from Boba Fett, which would tie into the concurrent Marvel comic series。 Never, in my wildest dreams, could I have foreseen Qi’ra’s return。 Much less as the one who stole Han Solo。 Even after all this time, Star Wars still has so many surprises for us。 Boba Fett has his work cut out for him in War of the Bounty Hunters。  。。。more
